Following Christ and being hated

My reflective poetry on this subject…

Though I may be reviled by others, I will keep following You my King.
And oh, what a grace it is to be reviled for You.
To feel just a bit of what You suffered at the hand of humanity for humanity.
You were hated.
You were reviled.
Even though You spoke words of truth, healed the sick, fed the hungry and loved even those who hated You.

So the disdain that they feel for me will not phase me.
Your love will always be stronger than their hate will ever be.
Please grant them peace.
Grant them the grace to see the truth of Your Divine love.

“Luke 6:22
Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.

John 15:18-19
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Matthew 10:22
And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Christ irritated people with His teachings about righteousness, mercy, peace and love.

If you are following Christ’s teachings, you will irritate some people, too.

But if you fail to stand for what you know is right just so people will like you, you are taking sides with the world, and not with God.

Sometimes being a Christian, a follower of His teachings, will mean that people automatically don’t like you because of what you stand for. Sometimes they will attack you verbally or physically for sticking with God instead of agreeing with their carnal drives. Sometimes standing for God will mean that you are standing alone.

But it is better to be alone with God than in a crowd without Him.”

Peace be with you!

Peace be with you!

Welcome to the WordPress blog Sacred † Vox. I created this blog for posting inspiring Catholic and Christian images, poetry and other things. I want to use this blog to reach people and tell them that Jesus loves them. He always has, and always will. The world may tell you otherwise, but don’t listen to them. The love of Jesus is eternal.

Here is a poem that I wrote a few days ago…

Your most Sacred Heart and Your most Sacred Blood
Given up for all.
That is True Love.

The scars You bore on Your back for us,
The nails that pierced Your most Sacred flesh.
Words cannot express how much You Love us.

Your cries as You were tormented,”Please forgive them Father. They know not what they do.”
Truly Lord Jesus Christ I love you!
Your selflessness, Your providence, Your Everlasting Love.
Please oh Lord allow me to enter Your Kingdom above.
